Eamonn Holmes sparked a bit of a stir with a cryptic “Ruth” mention in his latest Instagram post’s comments.

The GB News presenter, who recently made headlines with the bombshell announcement of his separation from Ruth Langsford, took to Instagram to share a new selfie with his 801,000 followers. 

The 64 year old broadcaster struck a pose with a subtle pout and a quizzical eyebrow raise while sitting in his car.

His caption read: “Beautiful hot day today ☀️ Enjoying the cool shade in the car 🚗 What are you up to?” However, fans were puzzled by Eamonn’s own comment: “Thank you for saying so, Ruth.”

It appears he may have mistakenly added a new comment instead of replying directly to a fan named Ruth, accompanied by some sad and thumbs up emojis.

Amidst the confusion, one smitten fan proposed in jest: “Can I marry you? ” prompting Eamonn to respond with a light-hearted: “Now that cheered me up Liz.”
